Hello. It’s Me.

Hello! Allow myself to introduce…myself.

I am Joan and I live in Sacramento. I fled our fair city when I was younger to go to college, experience life, and slowly move back one block at a time. My second time around Sac, I met my husband, David.

Yada yada yada almost 10 years and 2 kids later, I am now a stay at home mom with a plus size bod and a bulging closet. My style is a mix of all the clothes and all the limitations that come with being full figured.

As a youth, style wasn’t really an option. Not just because I was fat, but because there was little offered that wasn’t a muumuu or a cropped, pleated pant. And I wore a uniform grades K-12. But college! Bless my dear, dear friends in college who showed me that I didn’t have to wear sad jeans and baseball tees. I could wear a skirt! I could wear a dress! Who cares if I get chub rub, everyone does!

But let’s be real here, it wasn’t till the invention of this wonderful thing called the interwebs and the smartyphones that I really found my clothed self. Cuz here’s the thing they don’t teach the full figured kiddos: a majority of the time shopping in stores isn’t worth it. So I am going to tell you where online I shop. What sizes fit me in which stores. Who offers free shipping/returns and who doesn’t. And who I follow on Instagram that influences me and how I dress (ps there is a lot of forever 21 and asos happening in this closet).

Also, I curse. A lot.

I already feel closer to you.

xo, J

  1. Aw, this was a really nice post. Taking the time and actual effort to produce a great
article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a whole lot and never seem to get nearly anything done.

  2. I love it! The layout and the photos are fantastic! I’m looking forward to getting some fashion inspiration and tips. My sad closet is going to thank you!

  3. You crack my shit up!
I am so proud of you!! Awesome pictures and honest words! I am excited to be a part of your stalkers and learn something new! Your fans should have a cool name…I will think and get back to you. xoxox

  4. I just seen you on abc 10 mornings, I would like to know where I can get some clothes for my self. My 15 year old daughter says I need to find clothes that fit and look good on me, but I don’t know where to go. I NEED HELP PLEASE!!

    1. Hi Denise! I’m so glad to hear you want to up your wardrobe! It’s all about taking care of yourself. Almost everything thing I own, I bought from online stores. and are all wonderful resources. Eloquii constantly has sales and promos and there is always great stuff on ASOS outlet if cost is an issue. Buy what appeals to you to figure out which fits work best for your body type!! Then put those outfits to use!
